Internet activity

Project name: Who is Thomas Jefferson?

Description of learning goals and standards:
After completing this activity, the students will have a better understand about who Thomas Jefferson is. The students would also learn that Thomas Jefferson was one of the people who wrote the declaration of independent.

Rationale for technology:
The Internet allows the students to find information about Thomas Jefferson. The students would be able to find the answer to the questions that I have on the webpage from searching the Internet with the links provided.

Description of lesson implementation:
To make this activity, I have to create a website. I have to use Netscape Navigator to create this webpage. After the website is done, I give the students the address and URL so they can go to this website and find their activity. On the website, I also have several links that lead them to other source to look for the answer to the questions I posted.

Assessment:
The answer to those questions on the website is pretty much standard. Since I have already given the students the website to go to for the answer, they should not have any difficulty finding them. There is no critical thinking which lead to right or wrong only.

Other places to use this solution:
The students should be able to complete this activity anywhere that has computer access. They should not have any trouble in finding a computer because we have some computers in the classroom and the school also has a computer lab for the students to use during school hours.

What I learned and what I would improve it next time:
One difficulty I have is that I have to have Netscape Navigator to create the website. Even-though there is a computer in the classroom and a computer lab at school, the students still have some difficult in finishing the activity on time.
